my dad was telling me, (have no time to read the news.. morning, wake up... rush, go to work, come back, eat, blog, nathe, sleep)

there was someone demanding compensation for the death of an unborn 5 1/2 month old baby... it's a taiwanese, i might add...

excuse me, but SIA has already exceeded the amount of $137, 000 set by the warsaw(?) convention.. and paid $400,000 to all the victims of the crash... including the kin of the dead passengers.. if i'm not wrong...

IMHO, and i'm not country-ist or anything.. but it defies any logic that a pilot would pilot his plane onto an unlighted runway in the middle of a storm...

and that someone would contact the control tower to light up the runway.. AFTER the crash...

even if it were an emergency runway that has not been used for over 10 years, and is closed...

first off... it should not have anything on it if it were to be an emergency...

another thing is, if it was closed, why was it lighted? why were there no painted crosses on the start and end of the runway and no red lights across the all the entrances to the runway?

also, the pilot, he has flown to and from the airport many times... and he was usually given runway 6... and not 5r... and even if he was given the runway, it was only once or twice..

but the main question is... was the runway lights on when the plane was taking off?

i think i'm ranting too much for a tired person... yes... i AM tired. but less than yesterday...
